INTRO
35 Above is a Baltic non-profit research and advocacy association working at the intersection of human rights, gender equality, and inclusive social development across the European context. Our core activities combine interdisciplinary research, non-formal education, policy advocacy, and community-based initiatives designed to translate evidence into practical social impact. We focus on producing rigorous research on intersectionality, gender-based violence, power dynamics, public policy, and social inequalities, while simultaneously supporting the development of evidence-informed programmes and policy recommendations at local, national, and European levels. Our main target groups include young people, youth workers and educators, researchers, and decision-makers. For young people, we organize non-formal education workshops, peer-learning initiatives, and youth projects that strengthen knowledge, skills, and attitudes related to healthy relationships, gender equality, and active citizenship. For youth workers, teachers, and other professionals, we provide specialized training, methodological resources, and up-skilling programmes focused on gender-based violence prevention, inclusive facilitation, and intersectional approaches to working with diverse youth communities. We also collaborate with researchers to develop sustainable methodologies, conduct data collection and analysis, and strengthen the evidence base on gender, family policy, sexual and reproductive health and rights, and social development. At the policy level, we work with public institutions and stakeholders to translate research findings into policy briefs, recommendations, and advocacy initiatives that promote equality and safer communities. Our methods combine participatory research, feminist and intersectional analysis and non-formal education techniques. Through interdisciplinary cooperation and ethical research practices, we aim to strengthen the connection between knowledge production, policy development, and practical social change. Special programmes include gender-based violence prevention initiatives and capacity-building workshops that equip individuals and institutions with tools to foster inclusive, equitable, and sustainable societies through gender sensitive lense.
